Principle

Detects Bragg wavelength shift to determine the temperature at multiple sensing points of a fiber optic sensor cable.

Temperature range of 0 °C to 700 °C.

BraggSenz fiber Bragg grating sensor system designed for multi-point temperature, strain, load, and vibration measurement over hundreds of meters of optical fiber cable in extremely harsh environments. A grating can be written at customer-specified points to determine temperature, pressure, strain, or vibration. When temperature or strain around Grating changes, the reflected wavelength shifts.

Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) is a type of distributed reflector that reflects one wavelength of light while transmits all others. This is accomplished by adding a periodic variation to the refractive index of the fiber core. When the temperature or strain around the grating is changed, the wavelength shifts. When light is passed down the FBG sensor, the reflected wavelength shift is detected, and the temperature, pressure or strain changed as result.

Software

BRAGGVIS

The BRAGGVIS temperature monitoring software can be used to control the braggSENZ system and display temperature/strain data on a PC. The BRAGGVIS software can be used to configure the braggSENZ, monitor it, and display data graphs. BRAGGVIS performs monitoring, operation and control from anywhere via an Ethernet network.

Note– Our sensor cables, accessories work well only with our BraggSenz.
