DTSenz optical fiber distributed temperature sensor system is a low-cost tool for monitoring valuable assets. It is suitable for detecting fire or heat over continuous profile inside conveyor belts and power transmission lines, and tunnels.

Principle

Detects temperature at every meter on a fiber optic sensor cable by the phenomenon known as Raman Effect and Optical Time Domain Reflectometry.

Temperature range of -20 °C to 120 °C.

Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system is ideal for detecting fire and monitoring temperature profiles over long-distances. DTS is a linear system that can measure every single meter, allowing for thousands of temperature readings over a few kilometers of optical fiber cable.

When light source (laser) strikes an optical fiber, the fiber glass molecules scatter the light as it propagates down the fiber, exchanging molecules with lattice vibration. Their occur Raman scattering which has two components; stokes signal and anti-stokes signal.  It is reflected back to transmitted end where it is analyzed. The intensity ratio of backscattered anti-stokes and stokes signals help in determining temperature at point. Measurement of arriving time at transmitting end is used to get position of temperature reading.

The DTSVIS temperature monitoring software can be used to monitor the DTSenz system and visualize DTS data on a PC. The DTSenz software can be used to amend the configuration and control the DTS as well as show generated data graphs. DTSVIS performs monitoring, operation and control from anywhere on Ethernet network.

Note– Our sensor cables, accessories work well only with our DTSenz.
